On Monday, September 25, 2017, the Foley Field Foundation (FFF) held a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for the Provident Bank North Gate Utility Depot and the Bloomfield College Digital Message Board.

Members of the Bloomfield College community joined FFF, the Township, Bloomfield Public Schools, the Suburban Essex Chamber of Commerce, and Provident Bank on Foley Field for the special occasion.

“The Township is a staunch supporter of the Foley Field Foundation. It is gratifying to know the level of involvement and commitment by our business community, Bloomfield College, and our residents,” said Councilman Nick Joanow, who attended on behalf of Mayor Michael Venezia and the Council. “Bloomfield Township, through the efforts of all these groups, adds value to our community and our ability to provide the best recreational services by having a playing field that we are all proud of.”

The Foley Field Foundation is a nonprofit corporation with the charitable purpose to raise funds for the benefit of the Bloomfield Board of Education and/or the Township of Bloomfield for the purpose of planning, rehabilitating, restoring, improving and maintaining the Foley Field Complex.

"We have tremendous partners in this great town that I call home,” expressed Mike Sceurman, Recreation Director for the Township. “Things we’ve been able to accomplish, we couldn't have done alone."

These partners include Bloomfield College, Provident Bank, and Fallon + Pacheco Architects, who provided pro bono architectural design and project management services.

In 2014, the College donated $35,000 to the Foundation, to go to a digital message board.

“We are delighted that Bloomfield College has been able to put a fingerprint on this,” said College President, Richard A. Levao. “On this field, young people will develop skills that will lead them through life as competitors and as cooperators.”

Provident Bank donated $5,000 for the construction of the North Gate Utility Depot.

“Seeing the result of hard work and perseverance and knowing that together we can make a difference is a powerful reason to suit up and come to work every day, said Michael Kahn, V.P. Market Manager with Provident Bank. “In the past 9 years, I have seen amazing changes within our community. Watching this change and working with dedicated advocates like all of you, brings joy and accomplishment to my life daily.”

“Today is special because members of the Bloomfield community have come together for the children, the future generations of Bloomfield citizens,” added Sal Goncalves, Superintendent of Bloomfield Public Schools.
